In a nutshell, Audacity is a free multi-track audio editor. You can use it for recording, simple editing of single tracks, or more advanced editing involving multiple tracks.
The tutorial document below is for the newest Beta (testing) version 1.3.3 of the program, but will give you all of the information you need in order to use the program installed on school computers. I would recommend downloading and using version 1.2.6 as it’s stable and reliable.
