Music Genre Project: This is a project that’s going to be very production based and will rely on the things you’ve learned in audacity up to this point. As we did with the commercial production projects, I will be requiring a mix of written assignments that will outline and explain your projects, as well as audio submissions so I know where you stand with your voice recordings and sound actualities (sound bites) so we don’t come up on the deadline and are missing anything.
What I want included in these projects:
- Background/history on the genre
- Key players, innovators, “fathers/mothers” of the genre
- How your genre has transitioned from it’s beginning to where it is today and who has embraced past music genres in their music today
- What you think of the genre from the start, to the end of the project
Effects you’ll be using: Amplify, Pitch, tempo, compressor, echo, fade in/out, noise removal, looping, cuts, cross fades
Specifics required for the project:
-Projects will be between 8-10 minutes. (no less/more please)
-7 strong effect – 8 songs from your genre
- 5 voice clips, sound bites, interviews, DVD clips, CD sounders
- Also, none of the above can be longer than 10 seconds without your voice being over them. This is going to feature your vocal recordings as much as your additional sounds.
